Children’s Mental Health Week 2021

The pupils, parents and staff at Highgate Primary School have all enjoyed celebrating Children’s Mental Health Week 2021, both in school and remotely.

Over the week, the children have been thinking about positive mental health and doing things that make them feel happy. They have taken part in lots of school activities that focus on positive mental health – including the thrice weekly PE zooms with Alpha and John. Some children (and parents) have produced posters, made mobiles and glitter jars. Some have even become resilient superheroes!

On Wednesday, the children and staff took part in Inside Out Day. They wore items of their clothing inside out to remind themselves, and others, that we never know how somebody else is feeling on the inside. It was also a time to reflect on how important it is for children to talk to an adult that they trust about anything that worries them.
