November Sport

Despite the weather turning chilly, sport is becoming even more of a fixture in Highgate Primary life. Don’t forget Get Up & Go! now takes place every Tuesday and Thursday morning 8.25 – 9.00 am. A fabulous way to start the day for all the family and it’s free! Thanks John for your marvellous motivation!

Year 6 entered the Highgate Football Festival, managing to enter 2 teams in the competition. Both teams stayed undefeated throughout the whole tournament winning 10 of their 12 games and bringing home the Highgate Football Festival trophy. Well done to everyone who represented Highgate Primary and a big thank you to Highgate School for putting on such successful tournaments from Year 3 to Year 6.

Picking the team for the Year 5 & 6 Boys Haringey Table Tennis Tournament was incredibly tricky, with over 30 boys taking part in trials, both during lunch time sessions and after school sessions but finally we chose our four man team. We competed against 10 other schools and qualified from our group after winning 3 of our 4 group games. The boys qualified for the semi finals, narrowly missing a place in the finals by losing to Coldfall. 4th place in the whole competition is a fantastic achievement – well done boys.

Highgate Primary entered the Haringey Primary Schools Tag Rugby Tournament at New River. With 22 schools, it was a competitive tournament. Our team won 2, drew 2 and lost 2 of their group games. A superb effort from everyone, with a special mention to Charlie in Year 6 for scoring a record amount of tries for the school.
