It’s been an immensely busy and productive Sustainability Week this year and both the children and staff have benefited a great deal from all the fantastic events.
The whole school was encouraged to abandon cars and cycle or walk to school to great effect. Many of the Year 5 children enjoyed cycle training and the Travis Perkins Safety Truck added lots of insight into road safety.
Our very special guest speaker was Elizabeth James, a business and climate change journalist who works with the UN and blue chip companies around the world. It certainly was a fascinating and motivating morning assembly.
And the Sustainability Art project, inspired by the artist Tony Cragg, was a huge success. Headed up by our art teacher Johanna and a few parents, each class contributed towards creating our five school values out of recycled materials – Love Learning, Inclusive, Supportive, Healthy and of course, Green.
Thank you to Ollie for leading the week and for inspiring our school to be even greener than ever.
