We are pleased to announce that Highgate Primary has been awarded a Unilever bright Future grant of £1000  to establish ‘Slugs & Stories’, a project to connect the younger and older generations through their love of stories, all set in the allotment.

On 8th December, a formidable team of students, representing the Green Council and Debating Club, went to City Hall to pitch their ideas to Univelver and WE London. Taking part in a Dragon’s Den style pitch, the children successfully put forward their ideas, after which they were put on the spot with questioning about the project.

The award letter explained: “The panel of judges thought the Slugs & Stories concept was fantastic, and were impressed at how enthusiastic the students are about what they can learn from the older generation. Unilever and Team London would like to acknowledge the students that presented on stage and your staff team; we commend your continued commitment to youth social action.”

Slugs & Stories will begin in 2017 and we will keep you up to date with news and photos from this exciting community project.

A huge thank you to Ollie and all the children who represented Highgate Primary; we are incredibly proud of you.
