A special welcome this week to all the new children in Nursery and Reception, who have just started at Highgate Primary.

At the beginning of September, the Foundation Stage teaching teams were busy creating inspiring classrooms and making home visits to all the new children in the comfort of their own homes. Play visits were the next step in the transition process and the children enjoyed coming into the school for a few hours to see their classrooms and meet the children in their classes. At the end of this first week, the Reception children stayed for their first school dinners and now they will be fully into the swing of life at Highgate Primary.

The Reception children have been exceptionally busy: pretending to be firefighters; fixing bones in the hospital role play area; building friendships and listening to lots of stories. They all particularly enjoyed a ‘listening walk’ around their new school.

There will be a Coffee Morning for all parents who are new to the school in the Family Centre at 9.00 am on Friday 17th October. Please do come along to find out more about our school and meet some other parents.
