At Highgate Primary, we encourage our families, community members and guests to either walk or cycle to school, or take public transport. We strive to be a Green School and sustainability lies at the heart of our decisions.
Where car use is essential, some parking is available at certain times in our nearby streets. Hopefully the information below will help answer your questions, but please do get in touch with the office if you need help.
Can I park near the school if I drive at the usual school pick up and drop off times?
Since April 2021, we have been part of the School Street movement. A School Street is a walking and cycling zone created outside a school during peak drop-off and pick-up times, so only people walking and cycling, and those with vehicle permits, are eligible to enter the zone during certain times. Please see our School Street page with more information about where you can park during peak times if you do need to bring a car.
Can I park near the school if I drive at other times of the day?
The school is within the Highgate Station CPZ, with residents’ parking from 10.00 am to 12.00 noon. Alternatively, park nearby and walk.
If you do drive, safe and thoughtful parking is vitally important for our whole school community and we really appreciate your consideration. Please be aware that parking on the zig-zag lines on North Hill and double yellow lines on junctions is extremely dangerous to pedestrians and creates significant distress to members of our community.
Parking Enforcement Officers from Haringey are in attendance to prevent illegal parking or stopping.
