The Green Council

The school’s Green Council consists of two children from each class, led by our Sustainability Lead and Reception teacher, Tom Bhanji. The children’s council is further supported by parents who feel strongly about environmental issues and have time to work with them.

This adult Green Council is part of the PSA and meets every half term with Tom to discuss different initiatives related to sustainability within and around the school. The Green Council strives to support the children and the school to increase awareness on environmental issues and help children engage with current environmental issues. The Green Council supports the PSA to have more environmentally friendly events and supports the school in organising the annual Sustainability Week.

You can learn more about what we do on our Sustainability page.

Zero Waste Party Pack

In order to help our school community reduce waste, a ‘Zero Waste Party Pack’ has been launched. The pack contains cups, plates and bowls – and other requests can always be discussed. A donation of £5 is welcomed and can be paid on Scopay. All income will be used for further Green Council related activities, directly benefiting our children.

Please download our enquiry form here and  email highgategreencouncil@gmail.com for more information.
